Chris Henkel is a Managing Director in Moody's Analytics CRE Solutions group, overseeing the team's quantitative analytics and advisory services for banks, asset managers, insurance companies, and other CRE professionals.
With 25 years of commercial finance and banking experience, Chris has a unique blend of business and academic experience across the financial services industry—including expertise in commercial credit and financial analysis, portfolio management, allowance for credit loss quantification, credit administration, process redesign, safety & soundness examinations, and credit risk modeling.
In addition to leading Moody’s CRE analytics and customer success initiatives, Chris is active MA’s outreach efforts – such as authoring articles for trade publications, delivering webinars, executive and board-level presentations, and speaking at industry conferences.
Academically, Chris holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas (Finance and Accounting); and graduated valedictorian from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University, where he later served as a credit risk instructor. He also holds a post-graduate degree in data science and business analytics from the University of Texas at Austin.
On a personal level, Chris enjoys competitive sailboat racing, long-distance running, travel, teaching, and learning to be an “empty nester” with his wife and 19-year-old cat.
